I've lived in Parkwood Village for 2 years, and just re-upped my Lease for another year. Our rent started at only 840, but has since gone up, over time to 910, which is still not shabby for over 1000 square feet of clean, draft-free, nicely laid out apartment in Clifton Park. Our unit is outfitted for natural gas heat, so we have a nice low heating bill, and the floor plan for the 2 bedroom apts, has two nearly euqaly sized bedrooms which is great because I have a roommate, and we didn't have to fuss about who gets the "small room."
The grounds are gorgeous, with great big trees towering over the place, and pretty darn big lawns between the buildings, and between the buildings and the parking lot. I've read in other reviews complaints about "the bugs" and havign lived here for two years can only conclude they mean the ones OUTSIDE, since we've never had more than a stray spider or two indoors, or a moth that came in the front door with me as I entered at night, following the light. If you come from the city, this place probably isn't for you. Despite it's proximity to route 9 and the Northway, it's woody and very rural feeling, which is lovely if you grew up someplace less urban, like I did. My unit is in a building near the middle, so I can't actually see either highway from my porch or windows, and can only really hear the cars if my windows are open at night... and even then not for most of summer. The chirp of crickets drowns it out.
The patio/balcony sizes are lovely (patios on first floor apts, porches on higher floors) and the upper floors actually have the front door going out onto the porch, and a door from the porch to the stairs, which locks, keeping your stuff on the porch safe, and letting you leave the front door open if you like, (with the screen door closed to keep the bugs out) to get some air in summer. There's no AC, but my unit has a socket in the wall I could put a window unit in if I chose, without obstructing any of my windows. The office says I'm welcome to do it myself, or they can do it for me at a fee. Our unit has ceiling fans tho, so my roommate and I don't really see the need, since the trees keep it quite cool.
The only real complaint I can make is that it does get noisy sometimes. We've had a few bad neighbors, who were noisy as all get out. they've since moved out though. One set were evicted for non-payment of rent. I can't really blame Parkwood for them. There's no accounting for some people.
I can't attest to the Laundry room because I don't use it. I drive to my parents' house to do laundry, since it's free there, and they feed me.
If you're not concerned about tennis courts, a gym or a fish-stocked lake, but would like a woodsy atmosphere, clean, well laid out apts, great pets policy and a really big porch, Parkwood is great.

Really they said you could put in the AC unit yourself? Well according to the lease, if you do, that will forfeit your entire security deposit. Thy fee is $88 to put it in and remove it at the end of season. Yu will get an invoice mailed to you for this amount. I am glad that someone in here has had good luck. But watch your rearend and read your lease thoroughly. I also would not suggest being so naive as to leaving your belongings on your balcony. Your posting sounds like an ad from the apartment guide. Could you be the new manager here? HMMM

Heh... no. I'm a real tenant... possibly a real naive tenant, as this is my first apartment, but I really do like it, or else I wouldn't have just signed the lease for a third year. You call me na??ve for leaving patio furniture on my balcony, but I think perhaps you???re a little too jaded if you think every positive review must be fake. Is it so hard to believe someone may have had a better experience than you did?
Besides??? if I were the manager, wouldn???t I have said something nice about the laundry facility instead of saying I don???t use it? Hmmm? Wouldn???t I have jacked up my ratings to give the place a 5? No. what I am is someone who probably checked off the same thing as a bunch of other people, but isn???t a born pessimist only bothering to review because I???m pissed off at how I was treated.
Have a nice day!

^ Real tenant I think not... I love reading from the staff of Albany Management responses/fake reviews to all their craptastic apartments in the capital district. They own other apartments around here and those reviews are priceless...
