I moved into Twin Lakes after just returning from being deployed overseas with the Navy for 4 years and regretted moving in within my first week. Upon my first night there, my bathroom sink was clogged, kitchen sink poured onto the floor and we saw mice checking out their new neighbors...i.e. us! I talked to the front office who told me it wasn't their problem. I asked another office worker who told me to fill out a work request. About 2 weeks later a maintenance guy showed up, walked into my house with muddy boots, cleaned the pipes in bathroom sink and fixed the kitchen sink. I asked about the water damage under the sink which reeked and he said it s not his area and they would get back to me. I've since asked over four times and was told they would get back to me. Kitchen light is twin fluorescent tubes, which the housing for is so old and beat, the bulbs fall out and you must push them back in place every other day. Maintenance looked at it after two months of complaining and said they would need to replace the unit and they don't do that. Now the kitchen sink, the sprayer for washing off dishes was broken when I moved in and they said it would be replaced. Two months later, the maintiance guy came and looked at it and said that they don't fix those anymore. Nice!!! Wish I could tell them their Lease won't work anymore. I recently received a late charge for who knows what. My check is always in their box before the 25th, when it s required by the 1st of the next month!!! They told me that I was late and must pay the charge. I asked them to prove show me some proof and they said, we don't have to. You were late. Recently they told my neighbor that they were raising his rent...violating their own lease!!! He refused to pay more and refused to sign a new lease and after arguing with them, they finally gave up. Then another resident told me they were told that Pet Rent was being raised in the middle of their lease and they must pay it. They had to argue and finally that was dropped. Last week or so, the apartment below my brothers caught on fire in the bathroom due to faulty wiring to the bathroom heater. His apartment above it was filled with smoke when he got home and when he talked to management, they said just leave your doors and windows open for a couple days to air it out. They were serious. Leave your place wide open and don't worry about getting robbed' He then asked to be moved to another apartment about a week later as his reeked of smoke and they said he could move at his own expense or they would steam clean the carpets. The manager went into his apartment and said it smelled fine. We brought a couple people over and didn't tell them about the fire and they asked if my brother had started smoking, because it stunk of smoke. Hmmm... imagine that. Bottom line, when my lease is up...I can't wait to move out, my brother is gone, all my neighbors I know are leaving. I know 7 people who live here. 7 people all hate it and are moving. Bottom line''' Take your hard earned money elsewhere. This place makes my military housing from the 1970's overseas look like 4 star housing. You have been warned.
