Can't wait to get out of here!

THe only reason I chose these apartments was because they took pets. In the 3 years that I have lived here, they have gone through about a zillion managers and leasing consultants. They did not clean the pool once this summer because they fired the only person licensed to do it. I am sure that is a helath code violation.
THe pipes are horrible. When you call maintance for toliet back ups and issues with this, they bring you a plunger.
Our many requests for this to be a gated community or get security have been ignored. There is a lot of mischif, espically in the summer time. Things are often stolen and/or vandalized. The mgmt has refused to do anything about it.
The walls scuff very easily so watch your purse! The smallest touch scars the paint.
During the winter they are horrible about clearing the snow. They do not have the staff to maintain it themselves so they have to rely on snow removal to be contracted out.
Since I moved in, they have started taking section 8 housing. Not that I have a problem with that, but these apartments are EXPENSIVE for the rest of us and the care of the community has gone down hill drasticly since then.
I have lived all over the country and this is by far the most expensive place I have ever lived.
On a good note...it is a pet frindley communtiy and my neighbors are wonderful nice people. We all share the same frustrations with this place and it is a great topic of conversation.
I can't wait to move back down south next month.....

A gated community? That is ridiculous to request that from an aprtment complex! I hate to tell you, but buying a 400 thousand dollar house in a "gated" community does not assure that your house was built with the best of materials. Most of them have cheap plumbing, toilets and showers back up, vinyl siding begins to come off, and cheap appliances! The difference is, you just paid 400 thousand dollars for a cheaply built house in a suburban developmnet. I think that you are a snob as far as tenants go. Most of The "section 8" tenants you refer to are senior citizens on fixed incomes who enjoy a quiet life at the landings. It sounds to me like you are predjudiced against senior citizens! We live in Maryland, 45 minutes from washington. Rents here start at 1000 per month and go up! And you have a 600 square foot apartment with appliances from the 1980's. Plus one pays for one's own heat, water and sewer! Sounds to me like you are just predjudiced against the senior citizens who live in at the landings. Grow up! And you obviously have not lived all over the country becasue we have and there are alot more expensive complexes than the landings. Obviously you cannot afford to purchase a home in a gated community! So you want to make an apartment complex one! Please! Most complexes are horrible about clearing the snow no matter where they are. I should think that you and your friends have better things to do than to talk about the landings. if not, then you must have a very boring life! If you don't like where you live, then move!

"jvriesema" either works for the landings or spends way too much time on the internet. I am considering the landings but if I have to live near this guys mom I may reconsider.
