This apartment was nice at first. They did allow a pet, with a $500 non refundable deposit. Any damages that the pet did was taken out of the security deposit....so what was the pet deposit for''' The rent increased each year, and they did nothing to upgrade the apartment or grounds. In front of our building the grass would not grow, and they did nothing to fix it. It looked very bad. Electric, gas, and hot water were not included. Management changed a few times when were were there and the latest manager was not so friendly. I would not recommend this complex to anyone!

I recently moved into Riverwalk. So far I have a very positive impression all around, but in general will hold off comments on most criteria until I've been there a bit longer. I just wanted to respond to this complaint about it being high priced. You get what you pay for. Riverwalk is a premium location. If the unique advantages of living there are not all that important to you, you don't have to pay the premium. Go to a more ordinary property, and you will get more ordinary rental rates. Every apartment is either directly facing the water or has some view of the water, or is at least steps from the water. There is a beautiful path along the river, the scenery is beautiful, the complex is a few seconds' drive or a few minutes' walk from the beautiful and historic Simmons Island State Park. The pool is beautiful and well-maintained, the workout room has modern and (so far it seems) well-maintained equipment, and even has locker rooms with showers. It is an extremely tranquil place to live, and its location is pretty convenient considering that most places as tranquil and scenic as this property tend to be a bit more remote. And the construction is excellent, and as another review commented, the sound insulation is way above average. I think I've made my point.
