Complete rip off! Stay away! Dangerous...

Okay, where shall I start' Lets begin when I first moved in and had some sort of bug infestation that day--all in the bathtub and everywhere. Management wanted nothing to do with it, so I had to buy spray and later bombs from Home Depot at my own expense. Within a WEEK of living there! Let's not even mention the bees...

We had termites 4 times...after that I just stopped telling them--what's the point of having them spray my home with poison if the stupid things are going to keep eating the walls and leaving their wings everywhere''

Within a month, the stove was brokenon a weekday--they fixed it 2 days later--not acceptable when you have to cook for your family.

The staff was extremely rude--including one woman (the manager) YELLING at me in front of my son when I had a question about the security.

My car got broken in to within a few months--there is not enough lighting. Management's only response was "Well, we have security"--yeah-one rent-a-cop sleeping in his car across the development....also, there were MANY times when I had to park on the street because there were no spots left in the lots.

The walls are too thin--I could hear the neighbors talking, showering, flushing, having sex, watching tv, talking on the phone, etc...

The kitchen and bathroom are out of the 1970s...literally. Unless you want to pay something like $150 extra PER MONTH for the updated cabinets.

The club hours stink, and the "gym" is smaller than a bedroom, with 2 machines and a weight rack.

The "heat" was barely warm in most rooms (think flannel PJs, fleece blankets AND comforters/quilts and still waking up shivering at night), yet the bathroom was unbearably hot.

The paint job sucked, as did the spackling--there were dents and cracks all over the place--not very presentable to company.

The grounds are not well maintained--they never rake, and the lawn mower guy runs over everyones Newsday, so there's shredded paper all over the place. I cut my hand on a shard of metal left in the "courtyard" from construction--again, management's response was "not our problem!".

The washing machines ate my quarters--again, management didn't care.

It's just an aweful place to live, and I'm very sorry that I wasted my time and money there.

None of my neighbors were happy--most were just waiting for their lease to expire so they could leave.

Oh--and they really screwed me on the security. Over $900 they kept for a "damaged carpet"--they say there was a cigarette burn in the hall. Guess what' No one in my family smokes, and none of my guests have ever smoked in the apartment.
I'm currently dealing with small claims court for that one. They also accused us of having cats, which we did not, and threatened to withhold the whole security from us because of that.

Feel free to email me with any questions-- aint_it_crazy@hotmail.com

Good luck--take my advice and look somewhere else. I wish I had. I'm currently renting at brookwood town houses in coram--MUCH happier there.

--very unhappy renter
