The maintenance staff here is the laziest group of people I have ever seen. I called maintenance in October 2007 because the linoleum tiles on my bathroom floor were curling up. It took them 3 weeks to respond and at that point the tiles were curled 3" off the floor. They had to replace the entire floor and tried to blame me for the damage saying water from my shower was getting passed the shower curtain!!! Their recommendation was to tape my shower curtain to the wall on one side. While they were in my bathroom I showed them some tiles on the wall around the tub that were soft to the touch, thinking that maybe there was a leak behind the wall, causing both the damage to the floor and the wall. There answer was they only do floors and I had to call in another work order. I did that before they even left my apartment. That was in November 2007. I am still waiting for someone to come & fix the wall tiles. In February 2008 I had a racoon in my attic. I complained 3 times and two of my neighbors complained twice each. It wasn't until I told them that the racoon CHEWED A HOLE in my ceiling that they sent the maintenance manager over with a trap. He said they would fix the hole when they knew the racoon was gone. I'm still waiting. I also mentioned the bathroom wall tiles while the manager was here. He said he would send someone over and he was not surprised no one responded to my complaint. I'm still waiting. I also had to threaten a lawsuit because I tripped and fell over some shrubbery that was growing across the walkway. They didn't want to trim back the shrubs, pushing the blame on the landscapers who weren't due to come back for another 6 months. They finally had the shrubs taken care of when I told them that I work for a personal injury law firm and that it wouldn't bother me at all to bring them to court for my medical expenses (I wound up breaking my leg). I have also had my car damaged by inconsiderate neighbors and items stolen from my apartment by the maintenance guys. I really want to move when my lease is up but since I'm in the fire department I can't move beyond Patchogue/Medford and I can't afford to buy a house. This place is a typical you get what you pay for.

You better make sure that it is a racoon in the attic. Apartment 148A had a rat(s)? which crawled into the an open bird cage & killed the pet parot. Came in through the vent in the wall.
