I lived in Parker Towers for 5 years. Seemed fabulous when we toured, great location.
Move in was aweful, besides one of the 2 elevators serviving all odd floors being broken (very common occurance), the apartment was not cleaned, the shower, air conditioners, intercom and oven didn't work.
Anytime something breaks or needs repair don't expect any service, that is if you can even get through. 9-5pm, so miss work and miss it repeatedly as the problem is never fixed in one shot. Weekends, nope. Not even in an emergency- like electrical wiring that caught fire in the wall.
Walls and ceiling are thin, doors are drafty, hallway doors are loud. Expect to not only share your neighbors cockroaches, but their smells as bathroom vents are shared somehow. Also fight over hot water.
Elevator either is broken for weeeks on end or stops not quite on the floors, not air in them either (like a nice coffin). Dogs pee in them and the basement hallway.
Laundry room is usually pretty open, but half the machines won't work. but don't expect them not to take you money (which is an annoying card thing you can't use all of).
You also not have control over heat, so AC on all the time which is a bad blow considering they are now charging for electricity- even if you have a lease stating otherwise.
You must now mail your rent check in rather than drop at the management office which means if the post office or their "bank" screws up, you'll have a process server at your door instantly. Don't try to contact the rental office either, they are doing you a favor even to acknowledge your presence (even though you must get formd from them to vacate- they will ignore you as long as they want to)
Upon move out you will not get all your security deposit back. Even though our apartment was unrenovated and was to be gutted after we left, they charged us a "cleaning fee". Not to mention I scrubbed that place so it was better than when we moved in.
Overall great location, doormen are very pleasent and helpful at all times, they must becomes your best friends! Otherwise nothing else is anywhere near worth the money.

Curious...how much did they charge for the cleaning fee? I plan on moving out in December when my lease is up.

Hi, Yes, my question, too. How much was the cleaning fee? Which building are you in, -20. -40 or -60? I have had some of the same problems, but not most of them.

40 and they started trying $325, btu then it went down to like $85. Still an annoyance.
