Pounding, sawing, construction 7 days a week

I've lived in my current apt at Parker Towers for 2 1/2 years. I have to agree with all the negative things others have said in this post, but I'm wondering why no one else has mentioned the never ending construction projects.

I am subjected to daily hammering, sawing, drilling and dragging sounds (probably appliances and drywall). Every day, weekends, late at night, first thing in the morning. It has been going on for at least the last 9 months. The doormen don't know where it's coming from so nothing is ever done about it.

Add that to a $100 rent increase and a new $100 electric bill and our apartment is more expensive, and just as noisy as a Manhattan apartment without the benefit of being close to work. I no longer have a reason to be renting here and can't wait to move somewhere nicer.

I figured the construction noise was because our neighbors had moved out and they were renovating their apartment. Although, I did have security pounding on my door at all hours telling up to stop pounding, which we weren't. I guess it isn't just you.And the beeping, do you have the non-stop beeping?

No beeping (other then the smoke detectors), but I have heard others complain of that one. I'm sure the construction noises are related to people moving, but I can't understand why it has gone on for so many months. We had to call the doorman at 11:00 one night last week because the hammering was keeping our baby awake. It would be an impossible place to live for someone who stays at home during the day.
