TREAT DOGS BETTER THAN KIDS

The Apartments in this complex are nice for the Albany area. One plus is they are relatively new. The design of the community is terrbile however. Buildings are spaced as close as possible with very little grassy areas. What grass there is is designated as "dog walking" NO place whatsoever for children to play.(they treat the dogs better than the kids. that may be because they get a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit per dog but can't charge a deposit per kid.) You will find children in the street dodging cars and throwing balls near parked cars because that's the only place they can play. No bikes, skateboards or inline skates are allowed here. Some tennants are allowed to keep turf on their overhead balconies so their dogs can relieve themselves. There is supposedly a one dog policy but there are people who have as many as three.

It is Very loud. The firehouse is close to property and the sirens go off at all times for fires or ambulance calls. Wakes you up at night. You can hear expressway traffic when your windows are open at night. Dogs bark at 3 and 4 am. They are Constantly doing construction or outside maintenance work and they occasionally start as early as 6:00 AM and yes..on weekends too. Lots of college kids here...noisy. Pool is nice when it's open. They don't follow the posted schedule. Office is not open at convenient hours for the working individual to actually speak with someone or retrieve a package that wasleft there by FedEX And they lock it so the children have to wait outside in the cold for the school bus. So much for calling them when it's noisy at night as the last poster suggested. Clubhouse' It is a glorious office for rental/maintenance staff don't plan on actually using it! Exercise room nice with a TV to watch but bring disinfectant wipes!

Cars are constantly being towed for parking violations or given a ticket at a cost of 80 bucks! AGAIN, it is hard to Park after 6 or 7 pm. If you do find a space, they are very tight your car will be dinged and scratched a lot.if you have a nice one don't park it here! You will see police here a lot!

Disagree with last poster that every apartment is guaranteed a space in front of their apartment. The ONLY apartments that are guaranteed spaces in front are the three bedroom ones. All townhouses are told that they MUST park in garage or stall outside their garage. (In the lease it states that no vehicles are to be parked in the stalls!)
One garage door opener is given to each apartment Therefore if you are in a vehicle without one you must walk completely around the whole apartment building to get to your front door. The garages are located in what is the basement of your townhouse. Try carrying a carload of groceries, heavy objects or a baby in a carseat up a flight of stairs or around a very large building with no safe area to walk because you can't park conveniently near your front door! As for visitors..FORGET it..No place at all for them!

You will be inconvenienced by moving vans blocking your vehicle all the time..because people are ALWAYS moving out. They do seem to turn the apartments over quickly though.

One plus is that this is in the best school district in the area...but then again..they don't want kids here!

It is common to see and overhear a rental agent taking a cigarette break gossiping with tennants about tennants.

If you have pets, don't mind the noise and inconvenient parking, plan on spending your life inside your aparment, don't want visitors, and don't have children then this overpriced community is for you. That's why there are a LOT of college students here sharing apartments. This community is like living on a college campus again with your spouse and kids and a job to go to in the morning after a restless night. Don't get misled by the hipe of the free internet access either. It is worse than dialup! And you can't have certain cordless phones because they interfere with their wireless signal. That's stated in your lease. When you move out they will keep your deposit unless everything is like brand new they even expect you to clean the windows! If they tell you something get it in writing! Drive through at 8 or 9 pm before you sign your lease see if it's as nice then as it is during business hours! Read the fine print, and remember that your lease states that they reserve the right to change it at anytime.

Heh - I live in Oak Hill - and I think this post pretty much sums the place up perfectly! We clearly need better apartments in the Albany area. My neighbors are okay - but sometimes I feel _really_ bad for some people who have to live next to college kids or 3 barky dogs.

To the Oak Hill tenant who has so much to say, funny you are anonymous. You would think with such complaints you would have the nerve to say who you are. First of all, if you read your lease so clearly you would know that you also signed a construction waiver stating you understood the property was under construction, so complaining about it is a mute point. As far as parking, if people who lived in the townhouses used their garages for what they were intended for, THEIR CARS and not storage maybe there would be more parking. Also, no one ever said Oak Hill Staff did not like kids nor did they not want kids residing in Oak Hill, but you tell me how you would feel if your child was killed by your neighbor coming around a blind curve because none of the tenants seem to obey the speed limit clearly posted in the complex. You stated you are unable to retreive packages because office hours, did you ever stop to think that maybe the office staff has children and a family too, that they may want to go home to? The office staff can not stay there all night because you didn't have enough sense to leave a note on your door for fed-ex to let them know when to re-deliver your package. Oh, wait here is another thought, maybe you could have stopped in the office between 12-4 on a Saturday or Sunday to get your package, they are open then, or do you work 7 days a week? It is funny you complain about noise I lived there for a year and I had no noise problems, honestly the only problem I did have was tenants ringing my doorbell after hours and in the morning waking my children because aparently they felt I should be on call 24-7. Ahh, so I am sure by now you have figured out who I am, yes that would be me the leasing agent who smokes and talks about tenants to other tenants. Maybe if you wern't such complainers who thought Oak Hill owed you the world because you can afford to live there I wouldn't have anything to talk about.Try making over 200 people happy on a daily basis, it is impossible as stressful. Maybe you are the reason I no longer work there. Give the girls in the office a break they do their best and DO NOT deserve all the crap the tenants put on the every single day!! One last thing, next time you feel the need to talk crap about me, let me know I will stop by so you can say it directly to me instead of being "anonymous".

Wow the person above has issues! Maybe they stayed anonymous because the staff is CRAZY! How unprofessional is it to talk about a tenant like that! WOW SOOOOO glad you don't work there anymore maybe the staff should get their act together you sound like dirtbags!

Guess you prettty much just summed up why you were FIRED! Unprofessional review! Wow..you admit people speed through your complex. You admit you take smoke breaks when you should be manning the desk and talk trash about other tennants! And you are putting down the people who live there because they can "afford" to. So are you saying that this place is overpriced???? Aren't you getting a free apartment for your "inconveniences" of tennants bothering you at all hours? It should be worth it since it's so expensive to live there as you state! You need to be a little more professional. This pretty much sums up what it's like to deal with the Oak Hill staff!!!! And why is it that you guys keep changing the address of this aparment complex on this website to make it hard for people to FIND you and read your reviews. One day you are in Rensselaer, the next, East Greenbush and now it's Greenbush!!!! Quit trying to hide your bad reviews and react on them possitively by making your complex a place where families WANT to write great reviews instead of writing trash about the reviews!
