We moved here last May (2007) and signed a one year lease. We are currently looking into other apartment complexes in the Albany area because we would prefer to have the dining area separate from the living area, and the rent a little lower. But overall, we are very happy here.
We currently reside in an upper level, 2Br/2Bath Lark model. Because we have not moved out yet, we cannot confirm the rumors regarding the security deposit. We plan on leaving the apartment SPOTLESS if and when we do decide to move out to avoid the circulating rumors.
Pros: *Spacious *Lots of counter space in eat-in kitchen *Cathedral ceilings in upper level *Washer/Dryer in unit *Pretty spacious bathrooms (at least the master bathroom) *Cable/Internet (though not the fastest) included in rent *Fast-working AC and heater (though a bit loud) *Warm community and friendly neighbors *Good location (close to 90 and nearby shopping/eating destinations)
Cons: *Parking can be tough with two cars, but is not the end of the world *Can hear neighbors if they are screaming or if their TV is on the loudest volume *Rent $ - A lot of other complexes in the area are cheaper, though may not be as "new" in comparison *No designated pantry *Luckily we do not use the dishwasher but the few times we tried, the cleaning was not efficient *If you have a large dog, the designated dog areas are often very small and not grassy so you have to take him/her outside the complex *Living room layout - A little too crowded for both a nice dining room and living room setup
For those of you relocating from the city (as we did), the rent and parking situation in comparison is minute. Rent here seems much cheaper than what one would expect to find in the city, and parking is obviously not a problem considering parking in the city can be more than stressful (with tickets and whatnot).

When I lived in the Oak Hill dump - I did get tickets too. I parked in a handicap spot for a few hours because it was the last spot in the complex. I ran out before the sun came up in the morning and I already had a ticket. Just like NYC. Except North Greenbush is a terrible place to live with no culture or night life. My recommendation is to move to Clifton Park. The complexes up here are far better. You give up a longer commute in exchange for everything else.

This reviewer is CORRECT. Drive around the complex for a parking spot? WHERE THERE ARE NO SPOTS! When you pay this much for rent you EXPECT to park near your apartment and in the complex especially when you have little kids and groceries.

Let me tell you something... If you park in a handicap spot expect to get a ticket! I am sure you were parked for more than a few hours. Like all night? I would give you a ticket too! I suggest you drive around and park in a spot that is open. You are no different than the other 200 ppl that live here and have no business parking in a spot you shouldn't be in. As far as culture... Where is there "culture" or a "night life" in clifton park. I guess you just cant satisfy those that only think about themselves. Yes if you have groceries and little kids you are NO DIFFERENT either. Drive around and find a parking spot. A little lazy aren't we? Or better yet if you owned your home then you would have access to a parking spot 24/7. I have had guests over and they found parking with no problem. And guess what! So have I! No matter how late I come I always find a spot. I am sure this happened to you ONCE and you are holding a grudge about it ever since. Maybe you should fill your life with something important like taking care of your kids and finding a nice house for them to live in, instead of griping about something no one gives a ---- about. Have a great day!
