heather wood just charged me out of no where for a late fee that they never warned, or notified me about it.

and when i got them on the phone they were super nasty with me saying they told me about the late fee and contacted me multiple times.

i only had 2 phone calls from them and when they requested it needs to be handed in it was..

no word of any late fees were even spoke of during any of the calls from them.

if you like to get bent over this is the place for you!

I think you'll probably find the late fee notice in the lease you signed. Your agreement is to pay rent on time. We were never late in 5 years there and never had a late fee. "only two phone calls" complaint reveals the true depth of the writer's sense of entitlement, and lack of responsibility and their personal solution of simply blaming others.

So here are the real pros and cons: PROS: The apartments are VERY spacious and the closet space is excellent! The full size washer and dryer in the large one bedroom apartment is an awesome feature. They do respond quickly for repairs (although the quality of the repairs can leave a bit to be desired) The complex grounds are beautifully maintained and the dumpsters are emptied very often - I have never seen them over flowing. I rarely hear much noise from my neighbors- the walls are pretty SOLID! All of my neighbors are really nice! My apartment was newly painted upon move-in (exept for the bathroom which really needed it)CONS: I like living here however: These are not really luxury apartments by any stretch of the imagination - but this is a very nice "garden apartment" type complex. The "trappings" in the apartments are the basics. The kitchen floors are linolium tile. The appliances, while modern, do not match exactly. The caulking around the bathroom sink was sloppily done. Faucets are starting to chip/rust. The grout in the bathroom floor and shower very much needs re-grouting (this was the condition upon move in). The water pressure is the lowest I have ever encountered. The doors on the washing machine closet are metal and the paint job is pretty bad. The sound of trucks from the highway can be pretty bad at 530 in the morning (in the summer you can't notice this with the air conditioner on). Although the windows come with blinds (which were pretty banged up when we moved in), the sliding glass door to the balcony does not come with vertical blinds. So be prepared to spend big money on slider curtains/blinds to keep out the noise and heat/cold. I believe the ceiling fan is the least expensive one they sell in Home Depot and doesn't provide much air flow. I think Heatherwood is going to have difficulty renting these as luxury units moving forward - unless they start to upgrade the apartments somewhat between tenants. Or perhaps the owners of the complex are not aware of the conditions. This complex is a good choice if you need something basic, spacious and clean (with a nice pool and a beautiful pond)
