I have been living at VG since the spring of 2001. My experience has been mixed. The apartment itself is great. Great layout, two walk-in closets, and two full baths. The management of this facility however is terrible.

I agree with everything I have read in the previous reviews regarding the management except for one thing. The smell that comes from the waste facility is awful, but that is beyond the managements control. The waste management facility has been a problem in the town of Holtsville for a long time. We should have done more research before we chose to live there.

Getting back to the management of this complex: It is incredibly incompetent, unprofessional and just plain rude. My wife and I recently purchased a home and will be moving out at the end of this month. I made several calls to the property manager asking them to call me so that we can make the necessary arrangements. Not one call was returned. In adition to that I sent them three letters before I finally got to speak to someone.

The parking situation is terrible; not enough spaces for the number of apartments, and no guest parking area. So if your neighbor has people over you can't park in front of you apartment until they all go home.

The snow removal is a joke. They don't start shoveling until after the snow stops falling. And then they never shovel in the parking lots. So the result is you wake up in the morning and have to shovel a path to your car from your apartment. When you come home from work the sidewalks are shoveled but not the parking lot. My wife and are both professionals. We both have to dress in a suit for work. Try getting in and out of your car in a suit when there is a foot of snow in front of your drivers side door.

The landscaping was beautiful when we first moved in but has since gone down the tubes. Now they are letting people have dogs which is only making things worse.

Security is a joke. They seem to go through security companies like they change there socks.

My main complaint however is with the management. They are disorganized and unprofessional. It seems like not one person in the office has had any kind of business experience or training what so ever. What I don't understand is how these people ever got the money together to build this place because they come off like they just graduated high scholl and this is their first job ever.
