Been livin here for a year now and the biggest gripe I have is the fact that they allowed dogs here when I moved in and now they are not. I don't think that is right at all because we weren't even given a reason except that it was not beneficial to them anymore. Them allowing dogs was the biggest reason we moved here in the first place. My dog has been a part of my life for 11 years and a part of my family's life for the past 5 years. Now they're saying get rid of your dog or move out so guess what. They're losing a good tenant. If they are going to enforce pet rules they should make people get rid of their cats too who use my bushes as a litter box. And if you've never smelled cat crap and urine it is not very pleasing. It's probably because some people don't clean up after their dogs and some do. I myself was guilty of not picking up after my dog until someone complained and management gave me a warning. I was more pissed off that someone was watching me more than complaining because it's only right to pick up after your dog. Luckily we signed a 2 year lease and they can't throw us out yet.The parking really does suck regardless of people who have more than two cars. The spots are too tight forcing you to squeeze your car in between two jerks that just dint know how to park in the first place. Another gripe I have is the "security" they claim to have. The gates they have have never worked up until several cars were broken into and someone went around with a petition. Now the gates are working but when the "security" in the booth goes home(god knows when) someone just breaks the gate down to get through. If there was someone in the booth at night this probably wouldn't happen. Overall you may be surprised to hear me say that after all of that it is really not that bad of a place to live considering the price of houses today I don't mind living here. If someone does break into my car or place they just better not let ME catch them cause I'll split their head open. I am happy living her for the time being until hopefully house prices drop rockbottom within the next year. Ive never had a problem with management not to say other people haven't.

Yes, that is exactly what I was going to do. I have a dog also and ya know what let a judge tell me that I have to pack up my family, my kids change schools and be taken away from friends. This is downright disgusting what the Mgmt. is doing to families. I am not leaving either! I will just have to see what happens. They are the ones who changed the pet policy and allowed dogs. The people who pickup after our pets should not be punished for the slobs who don't. I have lived here for 5 years now and I moved in when there was no pets allowed. They took it upon themselves to change the policy so I got a dog. Maybe they should not allow NEW tenants to bring dogs in but let the people who currently live here stay until we are ready to move ,not have the Mgmt. tell us guess what we will not be renewing leases to pet owners. You are right islanders, This is bull.... I am just wondering if something legally can be done about this. Just because we are renters does not mean we don't have any rights. We dog owners have to stand up and fight this as a community some how. I did send in my petiton but haven't heard back about anything regarding that. Actually, someone just recently told me that new people moved in near her and guess what they have a dog. So what is the deal with that. This whole situation is just totally wrong and we have to fight it. Jennifer told me the reason they are changing the policy is because people aren't picking up after their dogs. Well, that is the Mgmt's fault then. Maybe they should enforce stiff fines to THOSE people. If having dogs does works for other apartment complex's, why can't it work here. Everybody just pickup after your pet! We should hold a meeting in the clubhouse to discuss what we can do about this. Any suggestions? |
