I'm living in these apartments now but am moving out soon. We moved to the area 2 years ago and wanted to get a one bedroom because $775 a month wasn't that bad. when we moved in we couldn't find our apartment but were nicely surprised when we found that it was around in the back of the building with nothing but the woods - no cars, no dumpsters, nothing but a pretty backdrop. 6 months into our lease, we started seeing flyers that said that "you can buy your apartment", which we thought was odd, but we were told by management that they were trying to sell the apartments off so they could have more money to fix up the place, which needed to be done badly. All of a sudden, we receive a letter on our door stating that they were going to show our apartment to a potential buyer because we had one of the nicest ones. I wasn't happy about this because we got the note at 8 pm the night before and didn't have time to clean or straighten up. Then we are told, that this chick is going to buy OUR apartment and we have to move out. We hadn't even been in the apartment for 1 year, which was what we had signed a lease for. After we had tried to move somewhere else, we found that was hard to do because we have a large dog. We finally chose to stay at the Ledges but move apartments because we didn't have any other choice. Management gave us only 1 weekend to move out and it was raining so all of our stuff got soaked and we were forced to live in a 2 bedroom, which we really couldn't afford but again, had no other choice. Also, the outside Maintenance sucks because they wouldn't fix anything including outside lights right by the woods. Thank god, I carried a flashlight with me or else someone could have grabbed me and no one would have known. Plus, they are nasty and rude and give you a hard time when you finally demand after 4 or 5 phone calls that something be done. Also, they say that you can't have a grill outside your apartment, which we received a note about and then one of the Maintenance guys had a huge grill outside his apartment and never had to move it so we put ours back outside. Let's not get started on people having sex in the laundry room, and gunshots and noisy neighbors that they don't do anything about. I still don't understand why they put out monthy newsletters with useless information but they can't fix the potholes in the road or put a light out by the mailboxes so you can see to get the mail in the evenings. Our experience was terrible with Hyde Park Ledges and when we tried to get out of our lease, we were told that they would take us to court unless we found someone to take the lease over. However, their turn around rate is unbelievable. This place is a -------- and anyone who would give them money, like us, is crazy.

Hi,
I was in Hyde Park, way back in 1992, my ex-husband was attending Culinary...My guess is you were also in school, or you worked for IBM.
i COULD BE WRONG, it has been awhile. Thought, I would let you know,
way back then, we almost made the mistake of moving to the LEDGES, some how we stopped payment on the check, moved on, ended up in Hidden Hallow. It was beautiful...and not as cost effective as we would have liked. I hope the ledges is gone.
