When I first move into the complex it was pretty nice and well kept. They did repave the parking lot while I was there it was not too bad to deal with. Although the information that they gave about the days and times were wrong. The layout was nice and I had a washer and dryer hook up in the apartment. There is also a laundry room. Storage is great with a locker in the basement. Heat, water, and trash is included. The kitchen appliances were new and the cabinets were recovered. The shingles on the roof were also replaced.
I lived there for 2 years. During that time the property was sold to a new owner. From that time the complex went down hill. Things that needed fix got a band-aid fix. Luckily I had a good apartment and noting need fix towards the end. There are some apartments that are partially below level and at least twice that I lived there and there was alot of rain those apartments in a couple building were flooded. After the shingls were replaced in the building I lived in on wet spot in the hall kept getting worse but nothing was done. One building and a couple of apartment had electrical fires.
There is alot of foot traffic across the property from other not so great areas behind the complex. This created alot of trash that was not always picked up depending on the mantainence guy that worked that month. At least one mantainence guy I would not want in my apt while I was not there to fix anything. I saw him stager of the bar nearby and walk across the grouds one too many times. The foot traffic also created people who did not live there hanging around doing whatever they wanted and we were just to call the police. Which I did alot to take care of kids hanging and fire started next door on boat trailers. Luckly I had no problems with my car but I heard of at least 15-20 cars broken in to while I lived there. One major problem is that the outside doors are not locked to get into the building. I found one early morning, when my dog had to go outside, a homeless person sleeping in the hallway once. Also, the police and EMS were there one New Years Eve to help a bleeding victim of a violent act, that happened nearby, after he took shelter in the basement hallway. The blood spots were still on the carpet when I left. But, the walls got cleaned.
Don't expect your security deposit back quickly. When I asked I was told it would take 30-90 days and the paperwork is not started until a month after you leave. Alot of people in the complex started to move out as soon as they could when I left. Most I think got fed up and bought a house so the did not have to rent anymore.
Unless they fix things to be more secure and take better care of the complex GO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO LIVE IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
