I moved in just before the holidays and I'm currently looking for a new place already. The old saying never judge a book by it's cover should be listened to before you rent here.I've already had insect and rodent problems and managment is trying to put the blame on me I have no pets and I keep my apartment very clean sometimes vaccuming 2&3 times a day.Besides the fact that I'm paying the same rent as others who have all new kitchens and bathrooms with new appliances.I've talked to other tenants who tell me if the property manager likes you you don't get charged for broken items just whine a little it works but if she don't look out they'll ask you to leave,as I heard through the grapevine that I'm now labeled as a problem tenant. My opinion is don't move in here unless you want to be subjected to a Harvy two face because everything sounds and is great until your in and have a few problems

Rodents??? Like rats, mice, I don't think so. I lived there!! Maybe occasional seasonal ants but rodents?? Not! Maybe you need to buy a home because you won't get better than this!

your problem was exactly the same as ours, we get blamed for everything when, duh, its the building and natures fault...this place was a joke and so was management. All they care about is the money and they tell you what you want to hear and never take the blame for anything even though its clear that it isnt the tenants fault!

Yes I lived at Charter Oaks as well about 2yrs ago , At first the manager acts like she is your friend. But be a day late to pay your rent and the manager is quick to turn the matter over to their lawyers to cover her own butt from her Boss down in NYC. There is a complex behind charter oaks that has people from there, that cut through the woods to use the basketball and Tennis courts (which are for charter oaks only )Plus there was a Problem with the people from the other complex coming in and out of the Buildings hanging out and stealing Mail and anything UPS dropped Off. And no matter how many times I would call the office to report the matters or to get things fixed nothing was ever taken care of . The only time I would see maintenance was in passing or when the one and only time they came to my Apartment due from a call from my neighbor downstairs about water leaking from my toilet in to her apartment. I had busted screens , I had a problem with Bees and Hornets on the deck and in the light fixture in my Bathroom ( which i took care of !) The water presure was not the greatest Plus the fridge had busted cabinets and the tiles in shower were coming apart and I was blamed for it all even when I reported this apon moving in. Plus I was Harrassed by maintenance the day that I was starting to move out , making the people who were helping me very nervous causing them to leaving me bymyself to make a 3day job in a 5 day nightmare . Which almost cost me my Job and caused me to get rushed to the Hospital for stress and High Blood pressure . I thought that Charter Oaks was Like the Apartment complex that I lived at in Rochester NY ( Rustic Village) No Way !!!!! Rustic Village Managment and Complex Makes Charter Oaks and the manager Look like a Sorry Excuse of a Complex ! Oh I forgot about the women who would drive up in broad daylight to the Complex to Steal the Plants and Flowers during the Spring and Summer Months while the Managers Office was Opened and Maintenance right in veiw of the Women while she was caught in the act and did nothing!
