There is a huge difference in apartments and buildings. If you are desperate for an apartment and they know it, expect the worst.

Garbage can sit around forever in the front ashtray. The soda machine can be empty for months. The hallways can smell really bad if you have a neighbor who isn't the cleanest. You will also hear the noisy neighbors.

One of the worst things was the lack of heat in the winter and the crapy air-conditioner. It feels like there is no heat in the daytime but it's hotter than heck at night. The window situation is much to be desired also.

The office staff can be unpleasant and blocking at best. Just try asking for something you are entitled to. Plan on asking about three times before you write a letter in disgust.

The security would be great if the camera in the lobby was pointed at the door and not the wall or ceiling. Also, it is common practice for the back door to be left open by other tennants and for people to just allow anyone to come in the building.

When we moved in, I got a huge sell job and after they got my money, we were just another number.

This is a classic example of the result of our society placing revenue before service.
