Complex is okay...Build a park for the children in the Ridge!

I'm a tenant and have been in the Ridge since March '05. Although I do not have small children I do see a lot of kids in the parking lots and walking up and down with nothing to do. They like to sit/play near parked cars. On occasion I have had to asked children not to play near my car.
**Managment needs to invest in a play area that can be monitored either paid or if tenants are willing to volunteer so that the children have some place to play.**
Overall I'm very happy with my apartment, my neighbors and the area.

I agree that the kids here need a place to play - that's why PARENTS should get involved and enroll their kids in after school activities, or the YMCA or something. I think that it's unfair to throw this responsibility on management. This place does not have enough room for a playground (this would probably become an invitation for older kids to hang out at night, hence becoming another nuisance). The basketball court was closed because of this. It was being taken over by kids that did not live in the complex, and problems were becoming evident, so management did the right thing in taking down the hoops. There will always be people who will complain about something or the other, but since I have been here (I live in the Ridge), I have not had a problem in the complex or with management. Requests for maintenance is done timely, and the guys here are great in fixing things. They are courteous, neat and always ask if you need anything else. Office staff is a pleasure to deal with. The ladies there are always friendly and professional, and I think that they do care about all residents here. You will always have someone who will gripe and make negative comments (they probably had problems w/management, or had a poor rental payment history, or just liked to complain all the time). This happens all over. Overall, this is a nice place to call home.

I live in Imperial Gardens and caught two 13year olds in the laundry room. A girl was performing oral sex on the kid. I told them to get the hell out. I know both kids live here. The couple is a inter-racial couple and I see them all the time walking around going into various laundry rooms.

Outofbrooklyn02 not sure how long u have lived in Imperial Ridge? Management is only interested in filling apartments! On a weekly if not daily basis there are always tenants moving in or out?? I don't think mgmt cares once you have signed lease. I've been living in Imperial Ridge for a couple of years and I am a working person and have never had a problem paying rent etc. I find that when you call the office to speak to management(Margaret) with a concern or problem you can never get her by phone. If you leave a message for her or anyone for that matter no one returns your call. I will say the 1 or 2 times that I have had to request maintenance I always get a technician who is courteous and does their best to fix the problem. I think this is a fairly decent place to live but a new management team is needed who are available to assist with the needs of the tenants. Especially working tenant! Regarding Children attending the Y,there is a fee to attend. Also how are the kids going to get to the Y? There is no public transportation for them to travel across town. In some if not most cases they have working parents who are not able to take them after school! Note: I do not have small/school age children. Westminster Mgmt has money and should invest in building a club house for the children. Tear down the basketball court since there are so many problems and rebuild on the site. |

What? Ok, you want an apartment complex with no place for the kids to play? Have you looked at the other complexes around? Even the less expensive ones have at least a small, level grassy area to play on. And, if you haven't noticed, there are 'teenagers' (loosely defined) still hanging out at the B-ball courts all the time regardless of there being hoops up. There USED to be small area for the children to play on at the top of the hill by the mail boxes/stop sign. Imperial tore it down. (Due to it's open nature, it really wasn't a hang-out for older kids) No, it wasn't anything huge, but it was a nice little playset for the kids.
Management NEVER responds to your service requests, maybe I should have called the maintenance guy directly.
As far as having a problem with management goes, it sounds like you've never called to have anything fixed, have you?
