Going down hill fast. The local thugs use our paking lots to smoke their weed and throw all the debres associated ,baggies, cigar wrappers, cigar tobacco and their fast food wrappers and bags on the parking lots on their way out. They should have security for the rents they charge which by the way they've increased mine $110.00 per month in one raise. The garbage is everywhere and eventually ends up on the lawns and then into the surrounding brush and woods. Alot of the outside lamp posts are not working which entices the illegal activities here. Kids use the lawns as their plygrounds which means when the baseballs or footballs land expect dents to your cars. When you ask them not to do it because of damage to your cars they ignore you and now you wonder if they will retalliate. Spoke to management about these problems and they just act like your making issues but they leave when their day is over so basically they could care less. Good Luck.. Consider buying a home instead.

The ball playing is not a new problem, neither are the nonfunctional light posts. Those problems have been going on since 2000 when I lived there. When they re-did the lighting in 2003, there was an existing electrical problem when they were put up and it was never fixed properly. They would replace a light, and two weeks later it would burn out. I had a new car back in 2002, and it became scratched and dented from tennis balls when the kids played ball in the grassy median you are referring to. Just call the cops if your car is hit.
The drug issue is well known with Wallkill Police. In fact, they'll tell you Imperial Gardens has gone downhill within the past 5 years and is getting worse.

There are at least 1-2 drug dealers per building in and around Imperial Gardens, makes me fear for all the little kids that live here...Listen up if you are a dealer: It takes one crazy person who buys from you to snap, it doesn't matter if they are a trusted source or not; I repeat - it takes only one!!

I've been desperately trying to buy a home. Although home prices are down there are high taxes, other costs associated with buying a home. This place is just horrible now. I've been here going on 6 years and cannot wait to move. I've outgrown my time at Imperial. I know that people who are less fortunate need to have a decent place to live but lately the type of people they are moving in are the bottom of the barrel. It seems they are letting people on government assistance programs move in and they don't appreciate a nice place. Well hopefully I will be out of there soon.
