I only went to look at an apt and it can see it is awful

I was interested in moving to Imperial because it looked good on the website. But I went there recently to look at an apartment and I could tell right away it was awful. They showed me the gym room which they claim is "new". It was hideous. The equipment was broken, the floor was dirty, there were holes in the wall, and the A/C wasn't even turned on. My guess is kids hang out there at night. And they want to charge you a fee for using it.
They only showed us the "model" apartment which is located in the office. They said they weren't allowed to show the actual apartment. The model looked good, but it was done up as show. I don't know how they expect you to rent an apartment without even seeing it.
The grounds looked maintained and since I went during the day I didn't see any teenagers hanging around. But I would not consider renting from them. On top of the issues I saw I was told by the office that the rent is raised every few months and it already seemed a little pricey for Middletown.

Well, everyone has their own opinions. You can't always believe what you read! I moved in a few months ago, and I don't see any problems. I use the gym, which is small, and everytime I go, it is clean. yes, the equipment is older, but always works. (No holes in the walls, I guess they were re-painting or something). This is a big complex, so there are a lot of kids around. The model apartment is just that, a model. I rented my place sight unseen, as my apartment was still occupied when I signed my lease. I was satisfied with it once I moved in. It had been painted, cleaned, etc. AND THE RENT DOES NOT GO UP EVERY FEW MONTHS! That would be illegal (and you would be stupid to sign such a lease!!) I did get in on a "special", my deposit was only $99. The lady who helped me was very nice, and informative. Overall, I am pleased with my new home and would recommend to anybody.

You must either work there or you are are really stupid or blind. That place is like a ghetto. If you like living there I feel sorry for you. I am too good to consider living there. I would never consider it.

I am so thankful for this site! I almost made what sounds like would have been a huge mistake by considering moving to this complex!

Well, what needs to happen for this place is better security measures both in picking a renter and maintaining the safety of our living environment. As I recall, there are no 'background' checks to move here, which would make a world of difference. I know they do credit checks but that shows nothing, even good people have poor/bad credit. Form a liasion with the police department and put in mandatory background checks, asap...bet if they did background/criminal record checks on their current residents more than half would be deemed 'ineligible' to live here! It's a known fact people will enjoy their experience, spend the money and suggest good neighbors if, and only if, they feel safe!!
