This is a copy of an email I sent to the woman I sublet from.

Where do I start. The door lock broke twice. the smoke alarms go off for no reason. the windows were a problem opening and closing and would get stuck in either position but they came and got them to work a little better. the buzzer to let peopel in still doesnt work at all. One outlet broke for no reason (the microwave one) and it didnt blow a circuit or anythign it just stopped working. The stove broke.. kinda.. the door of it anyway. I havent called about that yet. I am so SICK of calling them and having people in my house one day a week while were at work. its creepy. Even though they fix things its annoying. The main problem thats really starting to get to both of us is the heating and air conditioning. The living room is always cold. We put the heat on as high as it goes and the highest temperature and its never warm in there. On top of that the bedroom is always too hot. we've tried everything. We put the air conditioner on high every night and wake up sweating.. EVERY DAMN NIGHT. Sweating.. Its really starting to get annoying. I cant sleep. Amy cant sleep. We walk into work tired and pissed off. All winter weve been sleeping with the door and window open in the bedroom. We've had our share of colds. 30 degrees blowing in your face all night will do that. But there really is no other way to cool that room off. So. I know you can't change anything. But i think if they heard from you they would be forced to do SOMETHING. I received a late fee notice for January. January was on time but Decembers wasn't so I figured it was for December and I paid it within 2 hours. Sorry about that again. While I was in the leasing office I told them how upset I was and I couldnt wait till my lease was up. Ive also been telling everyone I know the place is crap. I actually know someone who worked on the heating systems and he said it was the worst hes ever seen. And they've done the heating and air conditioning in NY JAILS. I also told the office they have alot of nerve asking anyone for a late fee when nothing works, the buzzers have NEVER worked etc. There was nothing they could do. They suck. Anyway. I figured instead of me just communicating with the office I would let you in on everyhtin going on. I also had a phone connected and I'm paying $39 a month for phone service just so I could get it hooked up to the buzzer and the buzzers still dont work. What the hell' My friend helps moderate a fairly busy website (craigslist) and have chronicled my experience here and more than one person has said they were staying away and thanked me for my advice on living here.

So Sara. I know this is the first youre hearing of it. But it has built up to the point where I am extremely upset. The leasing office in New Rochelle is polite. But they're useless. The heating and air conditioning in my apartment is driving me nuts. I hate coming home. I can NEVER sleep. And im not exagerrating. It is ruining my production/mood etc. Do you ever wake up covered in sweat' Shower then change the sheets' Its horrible. And when I lay down at night I get nervous because I know in an hour or two I will be miserable. Thats no way to live honestly. Luxury' Far from it. Its not even comfortable there. And im not some rich guy who was used to being pampered. I grew up in New Rochelle. With very limited air conditioning in the summer and a 100 year old hosue with crappy heat and it was much more comfortable than your brand new building. I also lived in a very crappy neighborhood in Queens. And I didnt have roaches. So please. Tell me you can do somehting. Like I said. I called once because of the heating and AC problem but I doubt theres anything that can be done and I'm SICK of having people in my house every other damn day. See how frustrated I am' And ive only been living there since October.

P.S. the college kids dont bother me. Maybe im on a good floor for that'
