When your landlord is a pulicly traded company(stock symbol AVB) you better watch your wallet. Line item expenses are hidden in the fine print of your lease and on-site management is shockingly unavailable as company growth is accompanied by an ever increasing bureaucracy governing even the most basic procedures. Each year brings new expenses and diminished facilities. Utility charges are astronomical! Whoever heard of a water bill for renters'
why do I still live there'
1.) proximity to train station
2.) Have kids, need pool

I have to agree. We moved in with the intention of sticking around temporarily and have been unpleasantly surprised by what they call "luxury." We are now seeing that they use a lot of bait and switch tactics and modify their policies as they please. I don't consider bickering with my landlord in order to get them to follow through on an agreement, "Time Well Spent." The only amenity worth the fee they charge, is the pool.
