Let me first start by saying since I have moved here, I have had nothing but problems. The leasing office staff are manipulative, liars, and sneaks. No matter what my complaint is, my response from them is "There is nothing you can do about it. I am sorry." This place is packed of an unprofessional staff.

Let me explain the lies... When I rented, they told me the only parking spots available are the $200/month spots. I view the parking garage from my window, and I see SEVERAL $35/month spots available. In response, I declined purchasing a parking spot. I parked elsewhere, yet received a phone call from the leasing office telling me I was being charged $200/month for a parking spot I never parked in, never got a sticker for, never signed for. Had to get refunded through the corporate office, took forever... Oh yeah and don't park your car outside the building, they WILL either tow or boot your car immediately. They booted my Porsche several times, and I have seen several cars getting towed, ESPECIALLY delivery cars. Speaking of food delivery, MANY places around here when you order from and say you live in the Avalon, either they won t deliver, OR, they will make you come alllll the way down to the street, not even the front of the building to pick up your food.

Continuing with the lies, I pay $1300/month, but on the website, my apt is advertised $1140/month, with one month free. I was declined that deal, and my explanation from them was "The website was not updated."

My cable line has been physically cut three times, losing phone, internet, & cable. A missed out of a month of service b/c I was never home in time from work for the cable guy to repair. But when the cable guy did come on two occasions, he was refused entry because maintenance hours were over. This has happened three times. The funny thing about this is, the maintenance guy lives in the building, and would not come down at 8:30PM just to unlock the door for the cable guy to repair my connection.

In a rush' Well, of the 6 elevator banks in the building, NONE have worked all at the same time. At least one elevator is ALWAYS down. Sometimes, numerous elevators are down...

Hot summer day and want to enjoy the pool' I went to sit outside early one morning and the gate was locked. I asked why, and they said there is a chlorine problem and they cannot let people in. Numerous residents complained, and ALL OF THE SUDDEN, the chlorine problem went away (without anybody coming to fix it) and they opened the pool.

The gym is closed often due to air conditioning problems... but I don't use the gym because its junk anyways.

The upstairs lounge and event room are BEAUTIFUL. Great places to hang out and show off, but that s really it. They charge $150/hour to rent the place, and charge more if you want to rent after midnight.

The dry cleaning service - Great to just drop off your clothes to the front desk and pick them up nice, fresh, and clean. Convenient, but every single time I get my shirts back, I have to iron them because they come back wrinkled. No point to use that service.

The movie rental service is a joke. Nine out of ten movies are kids movies (rated G).

Commuting - Right next to train station, 30 min ride to Grand Central, but I work on Wall St. and its a 1 hour commute total...

Last, I am trying to move out, and my response from the leasing office was "We are not accepting lease breaks at the current time. Sorry."

To sum this up, this place looks nice from the outside, but is terrible on the inside. Nothing will work in your favor, and you cannot fight with the leasing office because you will not win, you will not get your way. Is this place worth it, NOT AT ALL.
