10 Hanover is a great building, but there are a few things that would add to the enjoyment of the building.
In paying a much higher rent, I was hoping to weed out the young fraternity mentality, but their seems to be an abundance of trust fund kids out there. However, there are fewer families and not too many children. BUt there are some disgusting little dogs that just pee anywhere and yap all day.
My one complaint is that construction was supposed to be completed ages ago. I am tired of being woken up by loud and rude construction workers screaming down the hallway. And my lease will end by the time I can enjoy the roofdeck or the lounge. I live near an elevator and can hear everything...which is very annoying after midnight. Also, neighbors down the hall having LOUD sex should be a little more respectful - it is RUDE.
Anyhow, the staff is pretty good - just wish the dust wasn't so rampant. Everything is covered in a film of dust. Dusting every other day barely keeps things in check.
I think the area is really great, but wish the rent weren't so ridiculous, but it is in check with NYC standards.
Also, only allowing one tenant in a studio to use the gym is really crappy. We even offered to buy the other membership, but the building would not allow us to, even on the weekends when barely anyone goes. It seems unfair to have a gym you aren't allowed to use.
