Years at this apartment:

I'm going to try to keep this short. Moved in almost a year ago. Ammenities were supposed to be finished around November of 2005. It is now June 8th, 2006, and despite having received an "official" letter from the Management saying the roof and lounge would be open June 1st, a little poking around reveals the top floor to be nowhere near complete and the lounge to be an utter disaster area which looks like it won't be ready for another 6 months. The management here is always very nice to you, and they are especially good at being nice to you while lying to your face.
The doormen are quite nice, but sometimes incompetent, and easily flustered.
The furnishings in the apartment seem quite nice, but you can tell the entire place was slapped together in a huge rush using cheap labor. Examples of this are various hardware not installed correctly (shink, shower, closet, cabinet handles have all fallen off and need to be reattached.) parts of floor not finished with care (visible gaps when floor meets wall not at right angles).
That said, they have been very attentive about fixing the small issues. It would be nice though if we had the lounge and roof to hang out on.
The people in this building are generally pretty nice, but there are quite a few paris hilton wannabees walking around with their asses hanging out, chihuahuas, and coke head frat boy man sluts. Lots of young students too. I am not sure exactly how they afford to live here as it is quite pricey.
Oh well.
The neighborhood is decent, but mostly because it's still walking distance from tribeca, the lower east side, and the east village. Virtually impossible to go out on a weekday night after work due to clogs in bars caused by all the investment/financial people out and about.
That's about it. We will probably stick around 1 more year to see if they can actually finish the ammenities. It's quite nice being on the water too.
