After many years of apartment living, I can say with complete confidence that this is the WORST building I have ever lived in. Where do I start'
(1) Construction takes forever. When we moved here in August 2005 we were told the common areas would be completed. Almost ten months later we still have no tenant lounge and no roof deck. Some floors are still covered with construction plastic, the apartments are dusty all the time and the hallways have dirty footprints from the workers. In addition, the paint and other chemical smells waft right into your apartment through the vents.
(2) The building is poorly constructed. We hear every noise down the hallway and out in the street. We not only hear our neighbors through the vents at night, we SMELL them -- whenever someone cooks or smokes, it comes straight through the vent into our apartment.
(3) The individual apartments are poorly constructed. The only nice thing I can say about the apartments is that the layouts of the apartments are nice. Everything is supposed to be brand new, yet the shower knob comes off while Iām in the shower, the sliding closet door falls off the track when I open it to get my clothes, and the wooden flooring is chipping. Also, our front door does not work right (the lock gets stuck because they installed in wrong) and the hot and cold water comes through the wrong sides of the kitchen sink because they criss-crossed the piping.
(4) Too many bad pet owners! There is dog urine in the hallways and elevators (no joke!!) and big puddles of it right in front of the building entrance. Also, if you are unlucky enough to live next door to a small yappy dog, you will hear it all the time through the walls.
(5) The great gym they advertise is a lie. First, many tenants cannot even get a membership. It all depends upon how you negotiate before lease signing ā some tenants have no option of joining the gym even though they are willing to pay. Second, even if you get a membership, itās nothing special. During peak hours, the whole gym is packed with Goldman Sachs employees, so you have to wait for machines, and most of the aerobics classes are keyed to the Goldman Sachs employee schedule, so if you are a professional with long hours you will never get to utilize the classes. [Also, while itās a minor point, the ājuice barā they advertise on the website does not exist.]
(6) The building attracts lots of college students, who treat the building like a dormitory or fraternity annex. Kids stand outside the building smoking, yelling, and being immature. All these young kids have dogs, and these appear to be the dogs peeing outside the building. The doormen are nice, but they do nothing to stop it.
I have many more complaints, but I think you get the hint. This building is an overpriced dump with a bad management company. Management pretends to care, but then ignore your complaints. In sum, unless you are a college student looking for a pet-friendly dorm, avoid this place like the plague. Life is too short to be this unhappy with your living space.

i have lived in hanover for the past 2 years, and i disagree that it is an "overpriced dump." whoever wrote this review is clearly an excessively negative person.
yes, 10 hanover is not perfect...but i challenge anyone to finding another building that is nearly as nice for the price.
