We got our renewal contract from the building and thought about moving out. The rent increase wasn't bad but we wanted to see what else is out there. I got the Sunday NY Times and saw 11 buildings in one weekend!
After reading posts on this site for other luxury buildings I have learned that they all have problems when they first open up (see 100 Maiden Lane). We checked out 2 Gold, Liberty Plaza, The Crest, 45 Wall, Tower 31, all the buildings on River Terrace in Battery Park but nothing was as nice as this building.
We've been here 9 months and at first the construction was annoying but I expected it with the HUGE lease we had to sign. Until we saw the other buildings I didn't realize how well we have it.
The gym is the best in the city, the roof is okay (2 Gold's is better), the lounge is soooo nice and the lobby is nice too. The interiors are awesome. By far, the best finished interiors in Downtown Manhattan. I can honestly say the service is better then anywhere else we have lived (this is our 4th building in 8 years in NYC).
A couple bad things: I know they don't have any deals with NYU or other colleges but the people are young and we might be 1 of only 10 tenants in the building with children. A few too many dogs also.
Overall, 10 Hanover has come a long way and we're extremely pleased. We love it. The rents are the same in all the area buildings but you get so much more here then everywhere else.
The superintendent Tom is so sweet and his staff is at your door immediately when you call. Check out other buildings if you'd like but I am pretty sure you will like this one the most. Thank God they have Fresh Direct because we really need a good supermarket! Anyone know what new stores are going in downstairs'
