I don't understand, I'm having a great time!

I don't understand the reasoning or logic behind many of the complaints here. With the electricity, for example, the reviewer below who complained about his bill said nothing about the season of use, whether he was using the air conditioner all day, etc. Overall, I find my electricity bill is actually lower compared to my friends (similar usage habits), many of whom have a smaller apartment than I do. There must be something wrong here.

Concerning the building's management, personally, I've had nothing but positive experiences with them, from moving in and maintenance to billing, etc. You have to remember that this building is still under construction. If you're uncomfortable with that, don't live here. Given the circumstances, however, the management has handled things very, very well and with an air of enthusiasm and politeness -- and that opinion goes for the vast majority of the residents I've discussed the matter with.

As for the individual who was petty and foolish enough to reference a member of the management team by name in an online forum, I think that's an ignorant and horribly rude invasion of privacy (not to mention a flagrant violation of the review guidelines on this very site). For one, what benefit does he/she think is derived from it' It certainly won't make the living situation better, only more adverse. For another, how would he/she like it if his/her name were put here as the "jerk" tenant, whom everyone should avoid neighboring with' He/She wouldn't. That same person who lacked the maturity and foresight to avoid using a name in this manner is probably the kind of person that would sue if the reverse occurred. Also, the logic that says "one person is bad so the whole team must be bad" is ridiculous.

I'd like to think that the kind of person who is able to afford this kind of place is also smart enough to see beyond the ignorance (which is not to say people who can't afford the place aren't smart enough...). I'm going to chalk this one up to a petty squabble and an even pettier fellow neighbor. Personally, my experience with the individual in question has been nothing but positive. Being young doesn't make you foolish or incompetent by design, but it does often subject you to people's predefined notions as to what you're capable of by default. In this case especially, it matters not. They picked the right person for the job.

To respond also to the reviewers who talked about management lying on occasions following complaint, I'm curious as to how they came to that conclusion. Do you have any proof' It would certainly be a shame if it were the case, but to what end would management choose to do so' It costs money to get tenants into a building (not to mention the vacancy), often more than they would supposedly be saving by misrepresenting something or other. It behooves them to keep you happy and willing to occupy the space for as long as possible, does it not' Have you tried bringing your calculations to the office'

With respect to maintenance issues, I've had a few, including a toilet (two separate occasions, two separate issues) and a light fixture. Both issues were handled very quickly and with minimal hassle.

The amenities here are just wonderful, especially the lounge, which I frequent. They're well-kept and are generally available whenever I need.

I have two major problems with the building. First, the rent is slightly higher than in comparable buildings. However, for me it balances out because I get to walk to work. Second, I really hope I don't run into any of the people who wrote those terribly mean reviews. It's one thing to be honest, it's another entirely to be flagrant and mean. If they're not even good people on paper, I'm sure in person they're just as bad, especially once you get through the cheap facade of smiles in the elevator; which, to me, equates to hiding behind a computer and writing cheap-shot reviews.

Despite some of the neighbors (apparently), I would highly recommend this as a place to live. Good luck.
