I am nearing the end of a two-year lease, and I'm eager to vacate this place. The building is decent - it's not well-kept outside, meaning, the front and windows are generally filthy - but the lobby is nice and apartments clean and spartan.

The true problem here is with the plumbing, particularly certain apartment lines. My dishwasher clogs consistently, filled with a dark, smelly fluidity I'm not totally convinced isn't sewage. The toilet is even worse. The smallest amount of toilet paper will clog it. In fact today I had it unclogged again only to have it clog the immediate flush afterward, with nothing to flush. This is a persistent, annoying problem that management has done little to rectify.

Speaking of management: the building -------, -----, is a true a ------ ball, particularly to females. He's a GQ cliche but without a hint of intelligence or professionalism.

If you can get over the fact the ------- may make your skin crawl, that you'll need to do your own dishes, and that you'll probably need an industrial-power plunger, then 10 Hanover is OK. (It's overpriced but that's another story.) I personally need an apartment to be fully comfortable before giving it a thumbs-up and in that regard 10 Hanover fails miserably.

Oh - I almost forgot. The tenants aren't always the most classy - the guy across the way from me was beat half to death in the hallway - cops showed up, blood all over the floor, etc. - and a couple next door often kept me up with their domestic spats. (I believe they were eventually evicted, though.)
