I searched a bit and came across some people from 63 wall street (AKA 'the crest building'), who have had similar problems. They formed a LEGAL tenants assoc. and it did wonders.
They all got free rent for 2 months, a new break room, a renovation on their poor sundeck and even a suggestion box where they added valet movies for free!
I have gotten in touch with them and I hope we can do the same.
We can all ----- and moan but we still write a check at the end of the month. Let's take this place into our own hands and enjoy it. F the management F the construction. I am too lazy to move and too tired of complaining to the 7th floor.
ARE YOU WITH ME'

no. because clearly no one really cares. clearly there are no real problems. why did no one respond to the tenants meeting posting? because there wasnt one. not a single person cared to attend. why? because the problems are not nearly big enough. waiting 5 minutes for an elevator is not cause for free rent. delay in delivery of a sundeck is not cause for free rent. 10 Hanover has been open for 16 months and they just opened their sundeck last week. please people. for your own sake. save your breath. oh, and by the way, in the brochure next to the sundeck, it says "actual views". they didnt reprint the brochure, ive lived here since february and its always said it. please people, enjoy your summer, there is abs no basis for free rent. |

"heyyyyaaaa" is definitely another person from management. I mean seriously, can you guys grow up in there and stop trying to defuse what is bound to happen sooner or later? But I don't disagree 100% with what you wrote though. I don't think people don't care, I just think people are scared and lazy. Maybe people are scared of "causing trouble" so that more B.S. starts to happen to them, and lazy because doing all of this takes work and tie and effort. Fact is I have heard of at least 10 people who are claiming to be complaining to management and trying to work something with them to remedy the large number of problems. The problem is, is the people who know what to do aren't helping the people who don't. The meeting in the atrium couldn't happen because it just so happened that that was the day 100 Maiden Lane decided to close it off completely to "clean" everything in there. How convenient, no? And to answer your brochure picture comment, whether it was changed or not, it says "actual views" on a brochure where the actual view is nothing even close to what the main picture shows. Very very very misleading. You are right about waiting 5 minutes for an elevator is not cause for free rent. But delay's of amenities, such as the sundeck, the gym, the lounge, etc is cause. The fact that things are screwed up in many aspects, which I won't get into, but are in fact grounds for many things like legally breaking the lease or bringing up a suit. And just so you know heyyyyaaaa, the laws of NYC tenancy are way more in favor of the tenant then the landlord. That's a fact. Especially with democratic judges in place that hear these cases, and with slum lords out there like the Ohebhalom's which are constantly in news papers about their conduct with tenants, NYC is cracking down on landlords taking advantage of tenants more so then ever before. Maybe instead of saving our breath like you recommend, maybe it's time to speak more loudly. I wonder if one of those Shame On You type shows would like to hear about what's going on inside this place. Then we could actually save our breath and let the television do the talking for us instead.

I wrote the orginal. I spoke with the president of the crest tenants and got some great pointers and they refered me to their lawyers that took care of them. Now to answer Heyyyaaaa guy, if no one is asking for your opinion and it does not concern you then why give it? I did not attack you or what you believe you deserve when paying more than you should and not getting what was promised as well as being lead on, lied to and talked down to by management. If you have good things to say about the building it is quite odd that you would come to a bashfull site and post it. It is odd that you dont see any problems with this building, that you think its just the wait in the morning for the elevator, the gym that was supposed to be ready in March and is the size of my living room for over 300 units, the lounge that is still not ready and has nothing to offer, the one laundry room that is ready with 4 overpriced machines and once again 300 units, the management/ supers that waltz into the apartment move things around and never lock it, the atrium and overall look of the building like a cheap super 8 hotel, the 'roofdeck' that took a day and a few bucks to fix that could have been done MONTHS ago and is a third of the size its supposed to be, the crappy workmenship on the apartments and the fact they let you approve it while it is still under construction, the need to get a 10 minute head start in the morning cause you cant get a ride to the lobby, the management bull@#$ing tenants into thinking thry would get sued if they talk about the building, the poor vent system where you can smell the pot from every apartment around you and hear the loud parties these studentd have every night... I can do this for a long time. You have nerve coming into this site pretending to be a tenant or a descent human being! If someone wants to get mad they have every right to. Who are you to tell them to stop?!?! you are pathetic, this building is pathetic. If your apartment was to get flooded and there was a tenants assoc. I promise you we would be the first people you call, we will be here to protect you! to look after your rights, unlike management who looks after their pockets! Take a second, think about this. If you lived here you would feel the same and if you didnt you would have the respect to butt out and not get involoved if a matter does not concern you. |

I, and im sure others, get upset when you criticize our building in this way because it is our home. it is as those someone is being cruel to the place we live and the place we call home. If you cannot understand why many of us are responding angrily to the terrible things you say about 100ml then I cant help you. You have absolutely no respect for your neighbors. Im happy to call this place home and it is unpleasant to hear people calling my home a "peice of _____". its certainly not true and its a terrible thing to say. you should be careful with the way you speak to other people and the way you treat other people. 100ml has been a great home to me. i certainly dont think this bars me from being a "decent human being". |

You know whats funny "truestory"? I, as I'm sure the rest of the unhappy tenants, get very upset when people like you come on here and tell us we have no right to be upset. We have just as much right to be upset with the things we are unhappy about as you do to be happy. Although most of my comments are constantly deleted off this site for ripping into the "tenants" that come on here to attack people, I have said over and over that if you're happy here, then great. If you're not, then do something about it. As it is "unpleasant" for you to hear people call this place a POS, it is equally if not more unpleasant to hear people say my complaints and others complaints are not valid. If you don't agree, then fine. Don't agree. I could care less if I have just 1 or 5000 other tenants in agreement with me. What matters to me is getting my issues resolved, which I can not seem to do with management. Maybe your apartment is perfect for you, maybe you don't care about the ammenities, maybe you don't feel like you are not getting what you paid for, and believe me, I wish I felt the same way and I'm sure the rest of the unhappy people would agree. You posted as a gentleman, and I have responded as a gentleman. I am a "decent human being" whether or not I agree with you and vice versa. The "terrible" things we say are the things we are seeing happening in our apartments, in the building, and happening to other tenants. If you can't see why we would be so upset, then hey, I guess I can't help you either... Sorry you take such personal offense to it, but if it really means as much to you as you are saying here, then you are more then welcome to take over my lease and I'll gladly stop bringing to light the things that I am seeing and the things that I am experiencing.
