This is a great apartment to anyone 1st move into the City. I have been here 3 years and am moving at the end of the month.
It has it's issues, very transient (1 year average stay), very young tenants, and several divide 1 bedrooms into 4, so the clientele is not what you would expect for the price.
Maintenance is great, expensive electric bills, i think they tap unit's electricity into common areas.
The amenities are also very nice - the laundry is another story. People tend to leave their clothes for over 48 hours and wonder why others move them.
All in all, a great no - fee building. The management does take advantage of practices outside the law (passing legal fees to tenants) and the security deposit is held for 60 days, even if moving within the same building it is considered a brand new lease.
Although there is quite a bit of noise outside, the units themselves are silent due to concrete walls and double pane windows.
I do not regret anything other than giving Rockrose over 100k in 3 years. Like I said, it's a great 1st apartment, you will learn allot about NYC real estate!
