Good apartment building

I moved into this building recently and I like it. I have a 1BR on a high floor facing north. View is beautiful. Noise is fairly low, though I can hear people in the hallway sometimes. Also, there are some bars across the street and people are somewhat noisy on some nights, but I'm a medium sleeper so it doesn't bother me. Ceilings are really high too (used to be an office building I think), meaning higher heating/cooling costs. I'm worried about the thin windows in the winter since in September it's already trying to feel a little chilly in the apartments. Other than that, the building is in great shape -- my apartment looked brand new when I moved in, appliances and bathroom are awesome. Staff is okay ... concierge doesn't do a lot, but there is a valet where you pick up packages and there's usually a guy holding open the door. I'd prefer one person who did all these things. I like the elevator set up a lot in this building though. There are 3 high-speed elevators for every 10 floors meaning you don't have to wait long. Also laundry on every floor, although it's only 2 washers and driers and they are available 24 hours which is great. Roof deck is fantastic too. Rents are a little bit high, but I think it's worth it given the location near subways (1,2,3 is literally half a block away at Park Place and A,C,E is pretty close too. 4,5,6 is only 4-5 blocks away, across city hall park), restaurants and grocery stores (whole foods and bed, bath, and beyond are only 2-3 blocks away). Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my decision to move here so far. Let's see what winter brings.
