This group lists their address at 244 W.

64th to entice you to see the apartments.

Half of the apartments face 63rd st.

63rd is a dead end loop that ends at the famous "Amsterdam Houses".

these are a 4 block long section of city housing projects which basically cut off the "63rd West" apartments from the rest of the UWS area.

I refused to live there, had a friend that figured it was safe enough.

Wait till you get targeted by the next door neighbors, beat by a gang of them, and have to watch the police scratch their heads and do nothing about it.

Lived here?

Ok, honestly, I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and it's a small apartment, you can hear all your tenants, the heater is old, there have been a couple of mice, the dryer didn't work on a few occasions and I had to run it twice, the treadmill in the gym gets really noisy and didn't work a couple times, they lost one of my work orders and it took 3 days to change my light bulb... BUT, you get what you pay for. For a building that has a 24-hr doorman, laundry room, gym and is in the mid-60s of Manhattan, this is definitely a fine deal. What I put up with here is much less than what I have heard people put up with paying basically the same amount sharing a place with an incompetent roommate.

Oh stop lying - 24 hour doorman is not at every entrance, does not speak English, does not want to help or unlock the door to his area after sun down because he knows about the animals that live in the projects will whoop his ---, and generally do not know what's going on. I've caught those doormen sleeping on the job overnight, so many times. The gym smells and has 2 treadmills that work occasionally. What a pathetic excuse for a gym! And from where I lived, you could actually hear people running on the treadmills when they did work. What the hell...? This is not a deal at all and don't be tricked into thinking you can't find better for your money.
