You get what you pay for - not half bad

I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and it's a small apartment, you can hear all your tenants, the heater is old, there have been a couple of mice, the dryer didn't work on a few occasions and I had to run it twice, the treadmill in the gym gets really noisy and didn't work a couple times, they lost one of my work orders and it took 3 days to change my light bulb...

BUT, you get what you pay for.

For a building that has a 24-hr doorman, laundry room, gym and is in the mid-60s of Manhattan, this is definitely a fine deal.

What I put up with here is much less than what I have heard people put up with paying basically the same amount sharing a place with an incompetent roommate.

There might also be cheaper/nicer stuff if you don't mind an hour commute.

If you have limited cash, chose your poison.

This place isn't THAT bad.

PS.

I was somewhat concerned with the Amsterdam Houses next door but I feel safe and haven't seen any issues there - it's basically families hanging outside playing b-ball, etc.

and that's it.
