I'll be moving when my lease is up.

The temperature control in my apartment is completely unpredictable. I never know whether I'm coming home to a sauna or meat locker climate. My heating/cooling units also require pieces of cardboard to dampen vibrational noises that compete with, and often defeat, my stereo system; maintenance comes and moves the cardboard when I complain. My dishwasher has leaked since I've moved in; there have been two unsuccessful attempts to fix it. The laundry machines often leave a noisome smell in clothing, with or without bleach. My kitchen smoke alarm has a sensitivity that prevents even the lightest sauteing. The maintenance people are very nice, but not typically able to fix things.

And the noise, oh the noise... Every night brings long caravans of police vehicles parading up and down the West Side Highway with sirens blaring. The nighttime construction noise is longer lived and even more unbearable (Didn't researchers just find that loud noise during sleep correlates with increased blood pressure'). The Port Authority has decreed that there will be none of the "early to bed" part of Franklin's old saying.

Oh, and the hardwood floors seem to be giving way/about to break in spots.

Responder please make up a quick acct and do an actual review as you will help to bring the % down and deservingly so and be helpful in warning other presepctive renters of the problems here. I two signed 2yrs back in October and have a countdown calendar marking the ending in late 2009! All you need is an email, user name/password and you won't get bogus mails or being given to any other lists but it helps if actual tenants write the reviews and thanks for at least commenting here.

yes yes yes! Our unit in the living room also makes an unbearable vibrating noise so we never even use it! It's impossible to hear even the TV over it! Our dishwasher is fine, but I THREW OUT a lot of clothes due to the horrible plastic smell that was left on them after washing my clothes I believe it was on one of the lower floors. And some of those charge $2.05 instead of $2 - what's up with the 5cents?! - It's got to be some substance because it also affects the elasticity in the clothes - I've thrown out countless pairs of socks and underwear. I am so regretful we signed a 2 year lease!!! I want to move!

I totally agree. The management at this building sucks too. Lee Roesen should be fired!!!

agree with the noise - is coming from every where - the heating/cooling unit is super noisy so it's almost impossible to use it. the maintenace staff is very sweet but true is quite useless, doormen are nice, my window was fixed several times and still i get so much draft that i had to literally tape it with a duck tape it. overall i guess it's decent, it's super noisy from the highway.
