I lived here for more than two years. I initially had no complaints, but then realized that I was paying way! too much for my studio apartment in an area that is really run down.

The area has become very ghetto-like. It even feels dangerous to walk around at night becuase there is no one in the streets in that area (even at 8 or so) and the lighting is crappy. It is like a ghost town! There aren't ANY good stores around and the only grocery store worth going to is on the corner of the building and is a total rip-off.

The only good thing about the buidlign is the free gym and the staff wich were all great to me.

But the manangement, and Rockrose itself are a bunch of loan sharks. They trully trie to screw you any which way possible, it is a very unpersonall, unfriendly company. I would not recommend moving into any of their properties unless you want to feel abused by the end of your stay. If you are interested in 99 John I suggest you go and see the building and the area at night and see for your self.

I agree about Rockrose only. They are a completely impersonal entity. They care nothing for their tenants and try to do nothing to help them. By the way if you are planning on moving to this building, be aware that it is in proceedings to become a condominium. You will have to sign a lease that has a stipulation stating that, at any point during the term of your stay, Rockrose reserves the right to evict you with 60 days notice. They are currently not renewing the leases of tenants that have lived in the building for years because of this situation.
