We've lived here for a year. It's not cheap, but, hello, this is NYC. The location is good if you want to be out of the hustle/bustle. We are within walking distance of two major parks. There is a shuttle to the subway, so, even if you're too lazy to walk two blocks to the 1 train, you can get a ride. The doormen are always nice, I don't really expect them to kiss my butt every time I walk in or out. I have occasionally opened my own door, but lived to tell the tale! We have not had any interapartment noise issues, most times we can't even tell we live in an apartment. The construction is noisy during the day, but, don't most people work' There are dog owners who don't pick up and it is gross, but Riverside Park is a few blocks away, so there is really no reason to use the Park across the street- again, lazy. The building can hardly control who picks up after their dog. Overall, we have had a very pleasant experience here. I have never had my clothes stolen, I remove them promptly and, although I do own a lot of expensive clothes, the valet/dry cleaner seems fine to me. Our lease is up for renewal and our increase is 4%..we'll probably renew. Maintenance has been prompt and efficient. Maybe people should try a kind word and a holiday tip to the staff for better service. Overall, we've been very happy here.
