Awful new management

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2006
This building was acquired recently by Archstone Management and these people have done nothing other than ruin this once luxury high rise in beautiful Brooklyn Heights. Management is headed by two 20s-30s fraternity boys who I always see carrying ice, sprite, orange juice, and a brown paper bag up to their office on the 21st floor. Aside from minor cosmetic changes (cleaning floor lights, installation of front desk computer, etc.), they seem to have forgotten that we pay $2000-$5000 monthly rents for these apartments! They have raised everybody's rents by 10%-30% this year alone. Once the two Archstone brats, Sheldon or Steve, have smooth-talked new tenants into signing the year lease, they wash their hands and run off to the next party. For instance, this weekend the two frat boys managing this building left town and they took all the maintenance room keys from the superintendent living on site. For the past 3 days, there has been NO HOT WATER and there's nothing the super. can do since he doesn't have the keys to the maintenance room. There is virtually zero maintenance after 5 pm and on the weekends because management has severely restrict the number of hours building employees can work so that they save a few dollars. I've enjoyed working with a wonderful front desk and maintenance staffs the past 4 years but immediately after Archstone took over, they began meddling with the buildings daily activities. The elevators do not work properly, most of the laundry machines are out of order, and there is a sewage smell in the hallway the past month or so. There is no Tenant Association. I highly discourage anyone from renting apts. here as long as Archstone owns this building.
