I genuinely hope that my review is read. There have been some negative comments with regards to the elevators here and I have to defend the building. There was an elevator issue for about a month and a half and while the building did refund 10% to the residents, people are forgetting that the building's new elevator system was built about a 15 years ago. The building tried to fix both elevators but both elevators broke again a few days later. Rather than risk more breakdowns and let downs, the building closed off both elevators so they could repair them entirely with a new system to ensure this would not happen again. The building set the freight elevator so that it only went to the higher floors to make in and out for those effected easier. The elevators are now fixed and we do not have to worry about the issue ever again. Truthfully, many of the people effected could just use the stairs at the top where the other elevators let off, but they have to be lazy and complain here, not fair. The building is great, doormen rock, everything fixed right away, management very cordial and professional and yes they do answer the phone. Best part about the building is the guy that runs this building (prop mgr). Guy's name is Mitch and he is the best thing any building could ask for, makes living here a blessing. Do not read the overkill, it is far from true. If forced to say a bad thing , I'll tell you there is hardly any parking on weekdays outside and some of the residents are bad pool players (2 tables in building)

To anonymous, my name is Rory and my wife and I live in 311. It is not the mgmt writing this and knock on my door and I will show you this. I am not a crackhead either but if you feel that way i'd prefer you man up and say it to my face instead of post some childish taunts like that here and then hide anonymously behind a wall of words. I like the building. Yeah the 5th elevator is busted but what are you going to do or me? They will fix it once and for all and we go back to our lives. Take the freight as a secondary option or leg it from 24 on up, get some excerise, and stop crying like little girl. And yeah, majority of the pool players here blow.

ABOVE POSTING IS CLEARLY FROM 1) MANAGEMENT OR 2) A CRACKHEAD.
If you cannot see through that posting, you're probably a crackhead too. I mean...come on "some of the residents are bad pool players (2 tables in building)"...are you serious??? Would anyone other than management write that? This is management trying to somehow make up for the other awful postings. Dont believe them for a word. They are awful.

I agree with the above post. This is so obviously management propaganda. The elevators are NOT fixed. I even had a chat with one of the elevator contractors, and he told me that the process was taking so long because the management company was too cheap to expedite the process. The management company is terrible and makes living here very difficult. If you want to live in FiDi, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. I currently live in this building and deeply regret it.

Are you kidding me? Mitchie is a joke and brings no value to the table. Seeing as you live near him in 311, I imagine there is something being slipped under the table. And good luck getting through to management. Here's their number for anyone looking to rent here 212-706-3030 see how long until they pick up the phone. DO NOT LIVE HERE.

In real estate, we call the guy who wrote this post a "shill," as he is clearly affiliated with the building, management, or ownership in some way.
Some of his comments were untrue as the #5 elevator to the Tower is still not working and it has been 4 months since it became broken. Also, the elevators are 60 years old, I spoke with the elevator contractors when they came to examine the problem (2 weeks after they broke down!). These elevators were not replaced when the building went from office to rental in order to save on costs. Now the renter is paying the price and not getting what was expected. Additionally, the service elevator still went to every floor. You just couldn't push the up button from floors M, 2, and 4, which tenants on upper floors use for the lounge, gym, and laundry. Tenants on upper floors had to take a different elevator to the ground floor, then go all the way back up the service elevator. The change made it worse for tenants, not better.
Also, there are 35 floors in the building and the lower elevator stops at floor 23. The orginal lives on floor 3, apparently, so I wouldn't expect him to comprehend how high the building is. It is not acceptable to walk between floors 23 and 35 unless you are running for your life. Try doing that in a men's suit in August. What a dumb comment.
