Same problem here we have a huge roach problem and crickets up the ying yang.Lots of pincher bugs. Management is very rude and inconsiderate, and these are the thinnest walls in the world. Cant wait until our lease is up because we are out of here!!!!!!!!

WIth the type of people who they allow to live in this building, it's not surprising. Anyway, to those who are college students, your mother doesn't live here and now you have to learn to clean up after yourself and your party guests. To everyone else, AND college students, ALL of your food products should be in the refrigerator and NOT half open in a cabinet (sugar, crackers, ANYTHING YOU PUT IN YOUR MOUTH). Garbage should never be left open or be allowed to accumulate--throw it out EVERYDAY. Your microwave should be spotless. Roaches also go where standing water is--SO don't leave dirty dishes in the sink that have accumulated water. Dishes with food stuck on them should NEVER be put in the dishwasher to just sit there waiting for roaches to feast upon. Basically, your kitchen should look like you could perform surgery on the counter. Apologies for those of you who "get it" but to everyone else, get your act together and you won't have roaches. Just believe that the person living next door to you lives in filthy conditions and to repel their roaches, you have to keep your place SPOTLESS. Period.

Hi - I'm looking at buildings in the area and hope what you posted isn't true! Can you give me more specifics on the situation? Was this an isolated problem? Do you know if it's still going on? How is maintenance in this building? Is there a building website to post maintenance requests? Any other info would be hugely helpful for me!

I have lived at the Crest for 4 years. I have nothing negative to say about it. Yes, the broken elevator is a pain in the butt. But not detrimental to quality of life. I have NEVER seen a roach in or around my apt in 4yrs. I agree with the above post, keep your apt clean...this is NYC!! If your apt is like a dumpster, critters will come. The maintenance is great...they respond promptly, and yes there is a website to post maintenance requests. It is very convenient. I live on a corner apt, and I don't hear any noise. I highly recommend living here. It is safe and pleasant.
