Gateway used to be a great family place before 9/11 ... and since they change new managment, things don't seem to get any better.

Problems : -

The electric bill is higher than that of any other places in the downtown area. (This is because the management buys from Con Edison and markup a big profit and resell to the tenants).

The area is not well kept especially where the dumpster container are located ! Rats can usually be found around these area at nite ! (600 & 400 building).

The doorman are disgrace and never offer help to the residents unless they are asured of a tip! Every building in the complex has a problem doorman from a drug addict, alcoholics and gamblers! (from 200 . 400 & 600 building)

The elevators are disgraceful. They crawl at a snail's pace. I usually wait over 10 minutes (sometimes more than 15 minutes) for an elevator.

There are 2 complete floors in the 400 building which are schedule for renovation which were never completed for more than a year! (Bad planning on management)

More than a month ago a masterkey went missing from a nite shift worker and Management took no effort to correct the situation! (This is important as this single master key can open all the 1000 apartments in Gateway Complex) They are not concerned about the safety aspect of the tenants but rather their bottom line profits ! (Cost too much to change all the apartment locks!)
