The above crime family runs the joint. They also own the Bankers and Brockers rest.
When I was there, a "Goodfellow" named 'Tom' was the Tyrant in residence and was in charge of the gang of burglers on the maintence staff. His 'kick-backs' were/are unending. Check your electric bill...ask Con-Ed to inspect...you will find you are paying upwards of triple the true cost.
We had a Tenant's Assoc. It had little power...because of fear of retaliaton from Tom and his gang of thugs. The tenants were treated like inmates. Ironic!
Tom was called the Manager of the complex, but in fact was more like a warden. The Tenants Assoc. had meetings at the Vista Hotel in the WTC, but to little avail because Tom had his goons in attendance.
Get out while you can.

This is ancient history, and dubious information. Bankers and Brokers restaurant has been closed for about 15 years (possibly more). Tom has not worked here for about 3 years. The Gateway complex is owned by the Lefrak Corp. and Olnick real estate... both very powerful interests, but not mob connected. It's tough for a tenants association to go up against these huge real estate companies. I am not an apologist for Gateway, but do try and get at least some of your statements straight.

Your insulting response to my review shows a complete lack of knowledge of the facts. I lived under those conditions and many more degrading and police assistance. I wrote the review in an attempt to save others from the same fate. I was one of the first tenents and had to endure many threats from staff and Tom. The 1994 date was an attempt to confuse the 'badguys' as to my identity.
