The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

The good- Price. Large space for relativly low rents. We'll see what happens in 2009 though. The location-great in the summer/springs. Lots to do for families. The views from almost all the apartments are nice.

The Bad- Boring as hell for young people/singles. No good places to eat, dead after 11PM. Not the kind of neighborhood you can just go downstairs and grab a drink.
The electrical bill- it's just insane. I'm starting to believe these conspriacy theories since no other place i've lived in the city charges such outrageous rates.
The dogs- OH MY GOD THE DOGS. I used to be an animal lover til i moved here.
The doormen- hit or miss. They sometimes have their good days, sometimes bad. I never know which side of them i'm gonna get.

The Ugly- The buildings themselves. They look like they're right out of the communist era in eastern europe. Eyesores in BPC.

What keeps me and my husband here is his walk to work on Wall. I however have a looong walk to the subway.
If in 2009 the rates go market, they'll be nothing keeping us here and while we're probably going to stay in the neighborhood, we'll be looking at different buildings.

Haha "boring as hell" - go to Tribeca across the street. if you call a 10 minute walk to subway "loong" I can understand that you are a lazy person who needs a dive bar on the ground floor of her building and a subway station underneath it.

Dead on review. I am the one in the family who works in walking distance and we have a kid, so the neighborhood is nearly ideal. A couple of decent restaurants might be nice and, yes, the exterior of Gateway is remarkably ugly, but the grounds are very well maintained and the apartments are spacious my Manhattan rental apartment standards.

To Anonymous: Your sad attempt to insult me just proves that you're incapable of addressing any of the issues. I never said it's a terrible place to live. However, the electric bill, and irresponsible dog owners are a problem. Yes, I want a subway that's closer. SO DOES ANYONE THAT COMMUTES AND LIVES HERE. Please don't "ass u me" i need a dive bar on the ground floor. All I said was the place is dead after 11, and it is. If i were to "assume" anything about you, it would be that you're one of the dog owners that lets their pet use the elevator as a bathroom. Perhaps you can't contribute to a solution because you're simply part of the problem. Good day to you :)
