I think that those of you who have offered horrible reviews have clearly either never lived in NYC or have been spoiled at more expensive buildings. I have lived in 7 different NYC apartments - ranging from Luxury to your 6th floor walkup - and I have been impressed with Gateway. The combination of the amount of space you get, with incredible views, and great rent prices is very hard to find in NYC. We have a walk in closet and lots of other closet space! The apartment is bright, even on a rainy day. I have called maintenance on a Sunday night and they arrived to fix my problem, and while some of the doormen are useless, I have noticed they have been recently replaced. The worst complaint I have is that the windows are quite old and really should be insulated better - something you may want to bring up when looking.

No matter where you live, there will be some problems. It's wise to choose a place that is not only a great price, but safe, quiet and spacious. I am happy with my decision and would encourage anyone looking for a good deal to check out Gateway.
