If there's someplace else available...take it! RUN!!! From: riverside5 Date posted: 1/14/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007   Unlike the past few reviewers, I've been here 2 years. Let them write a review after 2 years -- not 2 months! First of all, if you like living on top of a gas station and dodging cars as you approach your home this place is for you. The lovely Riverside Park next door has been rated #1 of the most dangerous parks in nyc this week (Central Park excluded). You have to stumble over sleeping people and mountains of garbage to approach the park which is always deserted anyway in this area. All that aside, the bldg. is run by Sophia, a psychotic, angry, lonely spinster type who is all too ready to lash out at you and threaten you for whatever. She is scary and you will see many people approach her as if walking on eggshells. Caution, do not disturb this sleeping lioness. She bites! There are a variety of lawsuits filed against her. None of the nice employees here last very long. She fires everybody. She is that bitchy boss from hell only she's not your boss and this is supposed to be your home. There's no super at the moment as she recently fired him too! The apartments are way too small and extremely overpriced! Poorly constructed. The water runs brown from all faucets. The bulbs in the overhead light fixtures blow out at least once a month. I've spent a fortune on buying bulbs. The tenants are great but nobody stays too long. For most of the time that I was here, they were constructing and fixing the exterior because they're trying deperately to sell (unload) this bldg. and when that happens...which it will eventually...who knows what they'll plan. Good luck here! Better yet, don't move here unless you're desperate.
