Years at this apartment: 1993 - 2006
As a 21 year resident of Independence Plaza, I've been through a lot with this neighborhood. I remember the days before 'the Greening of Greenwich', the years before PS 234 had 40 children to a class and the time when you could walk down the street and actually recognize your neighbors.
If it'll keep my lifelong home from eroding any further into the trendy, yuppie haven it has become, then I will certainly say to steer clear from these apartments. Stay in New Jersey, remain on the Upper East Side - whatever you do, don't come to Tribeca. Please.
