We moved here from out-of-state. If you can handle living in Times Square or work in Midtown, this is a nice place. Pros: The doormen are friendly and we have had no problems with the apartment. The apartment is very quiet. The laundry/gym/club rooms is nice. Our view up 42nd street is amazing. 9th Avenue has tons of grocery/eating options. Cons: It is not unusual for one of the elevators to be broken. The floors are gross parquet. It is very loud and we must be close to a firestation. You have control of your own heat/air, but you must run it at all times (only on or off button), so it can be expensive. We are moving to get out of Times Square, but if that doesn't bother you I would recommend living here.
