Think twice before you decide to move in

I've been living on RI for 4 years now, and while there are a lot of things I do like about it, I would strongly urge anyone considering moving out there not to be fooled by the nice views and space the apartments have. With that in mind, I've decided to move, as I cannot take the horrendous commute into the city every day! It is a total nightmare! The red buses are completely unreliable and you never know when you might be able to catch one. The F train is, in my opinion, the worst line in the subway system (and I've lived on most of the lines at one point or another) and the pace on that island is soooo slow. People just don't have the get up and go mentality that most New Yorkers do! What I'm saying is do not let the lease agents tell you that it's a quick commute to the city, cause it's not. It may "only be one subway stop away" as they say, but believe me, my roommate and I call it Gilligan's Island for a reason, you can't get off of it! The F line is always breaking down or even closed, which means you have to take the TRAM over to the city, which is a beautiful view and all, but if you need to get anywhere quick, forget about it. And if you work at nights or on the weekends, you will rue the day you decide to move to Roosevelt Island. With the F line down all the time on the weekends, the elevators and escalators always broken and the red bus coming what seems like every 2 hours, you will wish you had never seen this place. I'm telling you, BELIEVE ME!! I love my apartment. It's beautiful, but I cannot take what should take me, at the most, 30 minutes to get to work near Grand Central, being over an hour or more at times. That's why I'm leaving! If you're a family, and you love being at home a lot then fine, but if you want to be a "New Yorker" don't kid yourself!
