I have almost nothing bad to say about the New Gotham. Ever since the moment I arrived at the building to move in, the ENTIRE staff... from the concierge in the lobby to the cleaning staff, were all extremely friendly and willing to help. My friends and I have converted a 2 bedroom into a 3 bedroom, and they did a great job of building the pressurized wall exactly where we wanted it. The neighborhood is amazing! It has a perfect mix of all types of people, and there are plenty of little places to eat - not to mention a food emporium and a CVS/Pharmacy within a stone's throw. The laundry downstairs is convenient, though pricy.. $2 to wash, $2 to dry (I'm not sure if that's pretty standard in Manhattan), the sun deck is a pretty nice place to chill out and relax in the afternoon sun. My neighbors were all very friendly and respectful. Maintenence requests were handled in a FLASH.

I guess the only bad thing is that the A/C is not thermostat controlled, and only has the option of high or low. Also, there are 7 light bulbs across the mirrors in the bathroom which make it very hot at times. But I suppose if those are my only 2 complaints, I've found an unbelievable place to live.

lilmeals23 - The laundry price is actually great. I moved from an apartment building where the price was $2.75, quarters only and in a nasty, scary basement. Also, I prefer the central air oven an A/C in the window. But I understand your point because I moved to NY from TX where temperature controls were standard.

Hey: you can regulate your heat. The high/low is for the fan part. Use the other dial to control how warm/cold you want it. In summer, go toward warmer if you want to regulate your ac. In the summer, turn toward cooler to regulate your heat.
