Great value for young professionals

I moved into Normandie in June, right before the management company changed over from Milford to Ogden. I have to say that while Milford seemed to be very helpful, Ogden is quite the opposite. The apartment is a very good value for Manhattan, and has a key location. You are near the 6 line (great in winter, where living in similarly "affordable" apartments in Murray hill will mean a 10 min walk outside to the subway), there's a grocery store and pharmacy attached to the building, and there is some night life (albeit, mostly a Bridge n Tunnel crowd) just blocks away on 2nd avenue.

Altogether, an excellent first apartment. The doormen in the 205 building are superb- they will learn your name and face, and you will always feel welcome. The security is also top-notch (they even stopped my MOM to call up and make sure she was OK).

The gym is a great value- pool, sauna, free classes, etc. Never too too crowded either. However, beware that you are not allowed to use the sundecks (a key perk in summer) unless you belong to the gym, AND you aren't allowed to bring your guests up there with you even if you are a member unless you pay a ridiculous fee (I think it's like $10 or $15!)
